Most properties listed on MLS® are sold to buyers with their own agent; these buyer’s agents do all the necessary prep work to get the buyer ready to deal with you.
The average selling commission on a $400,000 home is $10,000 plus HST ($1300) = $11300! You pay only $999 plus HST ($130) = $1129
You’d still pay commission (often around 2-3%) to an agent who brought you a buyer, but you would save nearly $11300 on the listing side. Sell to a private buyer with no agent and you could save the whole $20000 less the flat fee you’d pay us. |
